Court terminology to be simplified, remote hearings to be allowed under proposed changes

Описание: A Bill that proposes changes to Singapore's civil and criminal justice system has been read for a second time in parliament. Amendments include simplifying court terminology and giving courts the power to order parties to attempt an amicable resolution to their disputes. The Bill will also enact a permanent framework for hearings to be conducted remotely. Also discussed -- an amendment that allows the Attorney-General to intervene in court proceedings to fulfil his duty as a guardian of public interest.
