For the cake:
3/4 cups butter
340 g semi-sweet chocolate (or a combination of bitter and milk chocolate)
1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
Melt butter and chocolate over double boiler. Cool and set aside
beat together the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer for 8-10 min until thick, foamy, pale yellow and forms a ribbon.
Pour into a buttered and floured pan lined with parchment paper.
Place this pan in a larger pan filled 1/2 way with boiling water.
Bake 45 min, chill 4 hours or overnight.
for sauce:
Puree 300 g or 12 oz frozen or fresh raspberries with 1/4 cup sugar until smooth. Strain and refrigerate until ready to use.
