Last of the summer wine ran from 1973 until 2010. It was written by Roy Clarke and it was shown on the BBC.
In total, 295 episodes was shown.
The original trio was Bill Owen whonplayed Compo, Peter Sallis who played Clegg and Michael Bates who played Cyril.
Bates dropped out after 2 series due to illness and he was replaced by Brian Wilde who played Foggy Dewhurst.
They were joined by a wide variety of different characters such as Nora Batty played by Kathy Staff and Edie Pegden who was played by Thora Hird.
