Alcohol does not extract the properties of the Marshmallow Root very well, so if you want a tincture, use vegetable, food grade glycerin. But you do not use glycerin full strength. It must be diluted according to if your herb is dry or fresh. You then have ratios of the glycerin/water mixture to the herbs depending on if they are dry or fresh.
