Especially, ‘oddball’ types of disc are of great interest. In this video, a 20" (50cm) French Pathé ‘Theatre Disc’ from 1913 is introduced and described. The ‘usual’ 50 cm Pathés ran at 120 r.p.m. in order to be loud, for playing out of doors, or in large halls. But they also briefly produced a series of discs that ran at just 60 r.p.m. which afforded extended playing time. Such a disc is illustrated in this video.
