Double Pushback In St. Maarten On KLM 747 Due To Unsafe Gear Indication

On June 9th, 2015 our KLM B747-400 (PH-BFG City of Guayaquil) rejected its take-off roll and we sat on the ground for four hours without APU and air conditioning. The crew received an unsafe gear indication and therefore returned to the gate. It took several hours to get a mechanic who locked the main gear. To check his work, the crew did two pushbacks. The saw one main gear did not steer anymore in the wrong direction.
We were able to commence our flight to Curacao and Amsterdam later on.
