The Berber Museum, located in the painter Jacques Majorelle’s former studio
The museum, which is devoted to one of the oldest peoples in North Africa, provides an overview of the Berbers’ extraordinary creativity.
The museum focuses on the knowledge that has been passed down through objects and utensils used both on a daily basis and for ceremonial purposes. Adornments, which express the tribal identity and social status of the woman wearing them, are also prominently displayed alongside clothing and accessories. A room devoted to costumes, weapons, woven objects, rugs, decorated doors, and musical instruments completes the exhibition.
