Looting and riots continued unabated on Sunday with video clips showing large crowds descending on Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal.
The KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council deployed MECs earlier on Sunday to monitor the situation in the province - where some assessed the situation at Mooi River following the recent spate of violent protests. A total 37 trucks were torched in various parts of the province. Estimated damage to private and public property is at approximately R100 million, however, “the information is still being collated”.
