Описание: A video of the Shuswap Firestorm Public Policy Forum held at Thompson Rivers University on March 6, 2024. Sponsored by Thompson Rivers University Student Union Solidarity Economy Club, the event featured talks by author Jim Cooperman, former Natural Resources Director Allan Willcocks (RPF Ret.), North Shuswap rancher and logger Karl Bischoff and North Shuswap Regional District Director, Jay Simpson. The forum covered the issues regarding the massive backburn that was lit by an aerial ignition and then devastated the North Shuswap community, the increasing number of wildfire response failures by the BC Wildfire Service and the solutions needed to improve wildfire suppression efforts.
