‘Yes’ campaigner Noel Pearson says his "people are a good people” and the alienation of Indigenous Australians mustn’t be prolonged.
Mr Pearson said Indigenous Australians should not be “feared or despised” amid the upcoming Voice to Parliament referendum on October 14.
“They have much to contribute to their country if only they be given the chance to,” he said.
The ‘Yes’ campaigner said the Voice legislation is a “modest” but “profound” proposal.
“An advisory body in the constitution to which the parliament and government will listen to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples so we get better results for Indigenous people and for the country.”
