The second in my series of videos in honour of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, recreating recipes from the Coronation Cookbook of the Teulon United Church Circle.
Yum Yum Gems live up to their name - you can't help but say Yum-Yum when you bite in to them. They are a delicious spice and raisin treat.
Yum-Yum Gems
1 egg
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup shortening (I use butter)
Small Tsp of Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cloves (one of each)
1 Cup sour milk
1 Cup Raisins
1/2 Cup finely chopped nuts
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
