Описание: Bodycam Video Of Police Arresting Em After Discovering He's Been Partying Too Hard - On July 20, 2024, an officer specialist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), accompanied by another FWC officer, was patrolling Black Creek in Clay County, Florida. At approximately 1600 hours, the officers observed a black vessel with Florida registration numbers ******* improperly displayed. They also noticed the vessel's swim ladder folded down and dragging in the water, suggesting that the operator had neglected to stow it.
The officers activated their patrol vessel’s emergency blue lights to initiate a stop. Upon making contact with the vessel operator, identified through his Florida driver’s license, it was explained that the stop was due to the improper display of registration numbers. The operator stated the numbers were already on the vessel when purchased. He was informed that vessel operators are responsible for ensuring proper display of registration.
During the interaction, the operator exhibited slurred speech, and the officers observed numerous empty alcoholic beverage containers aboard the vessel. A boating safety inspection revealed the operator moving slowly and bracing against fixed objects for balance. When questioned about alcohol consumption, he admitted to drinking "a couple of beers." The operator agreed to board the patrol vessel to perform a series of tasks to determine his ability to safely operate the vessel.
Once aboard the patrol vessel, the officers detected the odor of alcohol emanating from the operator and observed glassy, bloodshot eyes. The operator participated in Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks (SFSTs) but exhibited signs of impairment. He stated that he had an issue with his ankle but denied any significant medical conditions, physical defects, or drug use aside from blood pressure medication.
Based on the officer’s observations and the operator's performance during the SFSTs, the operator was placed under arrest for boating under the influence. He was secured in double-locked handcuffs, provided with a personal flotation device, and transported to the Old Ferry Boat Ramp. While transferring the operator from the patrol vessel to shore, he attempted to walk along the gunwale, stating, "I’m going to walk right here to show you I’m not that shit-faced," before bumping his head on the T-top of the vessel and nearly falling. The officers assisted him onto shore and then into a patrol vehicle.
During transport to the Clay County Jail, the operator became agitated and spontaneously made threatening statements, including, "You won’t be breathing by daylight." When asked to clarify, he refused to elaborate. Upon arrival at the jail, he declined to provide a breath sample, was read implied consent, and refused again.
The operator was charged with boating under the influence while normal faculties were impaired. He also received citations for refusal to submit to a breath test and improper display of registration numbers.
