In this putting tips video we will review how the putting grip differs from the regular golf swing grip. Indeed, whereas most golfers will adopt either the interlinking grip (interlocking grip) or the overlapping grip (vardon grip) when they swing a golf club the way they place their hands on a putter should normally be different. The reason for this is that putting requires a shorter stroke and one that rewards feel and precision. Since the putter is not travelling as fast as your irons or driver would you don’t need to hold it so strongly in your hands.

Try to find a way to restrict the movements of your wrists. Find a way to promote the rocking of your shoulders while limiting the hinging of the wrists. One way to do this is to let your index fingers run down the shaft of the putter grip. Other ways would be to use the pencil grip or the claw grip. Another way still would be to use the left-hand-low putting grip. Experiment with these until you find a putting grip that is reliable and produces consistent results.
