Sky News host Andrew Bolt examines the negative consequences of the government's failure to deliver on promises to reduce power bills.
The recent surge in electricity prices has led to a shock increase in inflation, rising from 2.1 per cent to 3.2 per cent, which challenges the Albanese government's green energy policies.
“Tomago aluminium smelter in the Hunter Valley said this week it looks like closing, because electricity prices there are soaring, plus, of course, green energy that the government promised wasn't there,” Mr Bolt said.
“What's so frightening is that Chris Bowen, the Energy and Climate Change Minister, actually claims the Tomago disaster – a smelter wrecked by high power prices simply proves we need even more of what's already killing our heavy industry.
“These are basic facts the Albanese government seems to be at war with.”
