Ingredients:
Dry white peas- 250g
Water- 2 glasses
Salt- 1/2 tsp
Oil- 3 tbsp
Onion- 2 medium
Ginger garlic paste- 2 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 2 tsp
Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
Cumin powder- 1 ½ tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Tomato- 4 medium
Salt- 1/2 tsp
Green chillies- 3
Onion- 1 small
Coriander leaves- 1/4 cup
Water- 1 glass
Chaat masala- 1 tsp
Juice of 1 small lemon
Coriander leaves- 1/2 cup chopped
Method:
1. Pressure cook soaked white peas with water and salt.
2. In a kadai, sauté onion till golden, add ginger-garlic paste, and spices (red chilli, turmeric, coriander, cumin, garam masala).
3. Add tomatoes and salt, cook till soft.
4. Blend green chilies, onion, and coriander leaves, add to the kadai, and cook for 5 mins.
5. Add cooked peas, water, and simmer for 10 mins. Finish with chaat masala, lemon juice, and coriander.
Serve with chopped onion, coriander leaves, squeeze of a lemon, and crunchy toppings of your choice.
