This is an instructional video for testing specific gravity (technically bulk density) of your minerals. It is designed to help hobbyists who don't have access to expensive lab scales and aren't trained geologists to more accurately test the bulk density of your gems to help with the identification process.

What I use:
1 stainless steel paperclip for basket
2 paperclips for frame
3 lengths of 0.08mm (40awg) stainless steel wire (EMPHASIS ON STAINLESS STEEL WIRE - substitutes like copper, iron, string etc. will create variables)
1 phone tripod
1 AWS Gemini20 precision scales (0.001g - 20.000g max) for specimen under 10g which is what this video is specifically designed for testing.
1 small plastic specimen cup filled with filtered water and a tiny droplet of dish soap.
Pure ethanol (96%) diluted to 50:50 pure filtered water and ethanol. CAN SUBSTITUTE with Isopropyl.
Sticky tape to bond wire to frame
