Tokyo Metro 02 Series (東京地下鉄02系/東京メトロ02系) is currently the only type of rolling stock to operate on the Marunouchi Line (丸ノ内線) since 1988. Built by Kawasaki, Nippon Sharyo, Tokyu Car and Kinki Sharyo (same manufacturers for SMRT's C151), the 02 series is similar in design to the 01 series operating on Ginza Line.
Early 02 series are fitted with chopper traction control, and later units with IGBT-VVVF traction control. While the 01 series is being replaced completely with new rolling stock, the 02 series is undergoing a new lease of life through refurbishment.
The trainset featured in this video is one of the earlier built refurbished units (at a later stage of the project), along with a pink colour scheme and refitted with Toshiba's IGBT-VVVF traction control using PMSM technology.
