Reading Between the Lines features books by Japanese authors that have been translated to English. This online book club event will offer close-reading of excerpts and an interactive discussion of Yoko Tawada’s latest novel, Scattered All Over the Earth. The book imagines a dystopian future in which Japan no longer exists and a Japanese woman who goes on a journey throughout Europe to find someone who can speak with her in her native tongue.
