Simple Mods to upgrade Your Cheap Ball Vise

Описание: When I first started my engraving journey, I picked up a cheap ball vise. A lot of people will tell you, "buy the best tool so you only buy it once," and while that advice is solid, sometimes it is simply not realistic. At the time, I had to make do with what I could afford.

Each vise can work a little differently, and to be clear, this video is not about the Vevor GRS clone. Instead, I’ll be focusing on the 5" Engraving Block Ball Vises you can find from various sellers online.

With a few simple modifications and a bit of basic engineering, even a budget vise can be transformed into a very workable tool. In this video, I’ll show you some easy upgrades you can make using simple tools, helping you get the best performance out of what you have.

Things shown to upgrade. You need to test and measure yours.
3.5mm brass (test yours)
3mm veg tan leather
3mm brass sheet for bearing housing
IKO Thrust Needle Roller Bearing (AS90120) 90 x 120 x 4mm (check your vice diameter and chose one that is close to the edge)

We will see if this vise gets me to a point where I can get a GRS Magnablock :)
