The Political and ethnic feud between Cubana Chief Priest and Issac Fayose has left many Nigerians divided in opinon! It has also sparked a massive debate about the Igbo people and political loyalty, Business alignments, political activism, Ethnic Stereotyping, Source of wealth, accountablitity and so much more!
Over the past few years, Issac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti governor, Ayo Fashose has become very vocal about his political opinions, often reacting to current political news and stories, shaming anyone he finds guilty by words or association.
It all began in May of 2025 after popular businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, who is well known as Cubana Chiefpriest, caught the attention of Isaac Fayose after he posted this photo and video himself kneeling to greet the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, in a post he captioned "#LoyalityNaWater!
Fayose compared the gesture to a puppy kneeling and accused him of lacking integrity. He also compared it to Seyi Vodi, a fashion designer with a solid track record.
Well..Cubana Chiefpriest reacted, and here is what he said: "My brother take am easy, life no hard like that, it's all love let God take the lead, na that thing wey you brother don chop dey hungry me if na down I go kneel get am I go kneel scatter."
A few days later, around the 25th of May of the same month, Cubana Chief Priest met President Bola Tinubu for the first time at the State House in Abuja. Again, the celebrity barman knelt before the President as a sign of respect, which sparked widespread debate on social media. During this visit, Cubana Chief Priest declared his support for the cityboy movement, and he was quoted as saying, "We will succeed again in 2027!"
As you can imagein this meeting marked a significant shift in the socialite's political alignment.
Around the same time, the case of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was being wrapped up in court, and he was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment on the 20th of November 2025 and quickly sent to Sokoto Prison the next day.
This was when Cubana Chiefpriest cried out! After research, we found out that Celebrated bar man has never addressed the issue of Nnamdi Kanu's arrest since he was captured at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, on the 19th of June 2021!
So, after the Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment, Cubana Chief Priest finally spoke about him for the first time. He issued a stark warning to the government and declared that President Bola Tinubu would not receive even 10,000 votes from the South-East in the 2027 elections if Nnamdi Kanu remained in prison. He described Mazi as the "Supreme Leader of the South-East" and argued that his detention was a direct threat to the President's political fortunes in the Igbo regions.
While many thought his speaking out now was already too late! He still gave the Igbo people some hope of doing something about the situation, since he had already met the president and can easy speak to him now.
