Описание: In ancient times, the celestial beings (Devas) approached Lord Shiva seeking a cure for the 4,448 human ailments and the ultimate cure for the disease of rebirth itself. Lord Shiva, upon reaching the northern bank of the sacred River Kaveri, found an anthill beneath a neem tree. He instructed the divine cow Kamadhenu to pour her milk over it. From this act, a self-manifested (Swayambhu) Shiva Lingam emerged, and He became known as Vaitheeswaran – the Divine Healer.
The milk of Kamadhenu transformed into the sacred nectar known as Siddha Amirtha Theertham. While Lord Shiva was preparing the divine medicines, Goddess Parvati brought medicinal oils, earning Her the name Thaila Nayaki. The temple also houses a shrine for Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of Ayurveda. This is the sacred Vaitheeswaran Koil – the temple of healing and blessings.
