Uniform fuel pricing to protect consumers – NPA Boss | Ekosiisen The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Edudzi Tamakloe, has said that the directive enforcing uniform fuel prices across the country is intended to benefit all Ghanaians.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Tamakloe explained that the law requires all ex-pump prices set by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to be the same at their respective retail outlets.
“The Uniform Price Directive is designed to benefit all Ghanaians and consumers. The law clearly states that all ex-pump prices set by oil marketing companies must be the same at their respective retail outlets. It’s in the legislation,” he said.
His comments come after the NPA scrapped the application of discounted fuel prices across the downstream petroleum sector, directing all OMCs and LPG Marketing Companies (LPGMCs) to cease selective price reductions at designated retail stations.
The move is part of a review of the Petroleum Products Pricing Guidelines, which takes effect from March 16, 2026, and applies to all OMCs and LPGMCs operating in Ghana. #MyJoyOnline
