The R62 is a class of New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) rolling stock that operates on the A Division of the New York City Subway. A total of 325 R62 cars were built by Kawasaki from 1983-1985, and a total of 825 R62A cars were built by Bombardier from 1984-1987. The fleet has been operating for 40 years on the numbered Subway services (1/2/3/4/5/6/7/42nd Street S). The venerable cars are planned to be replaced by the future R262 fleet, but until then they continue to operate in daily service.
