FRU First Clear - RDM POV (Fake Melee)

disclaimer: i'm not a red mage main - this prog was the first time i played level 100 rdm seriously. my rotation/gameplay is not perfect by any means, but will hopefully provide a useful pov to anyone looking to try rdm in FRU.

i think p1-p4 rotation is mostly solid except for the part where i missed a reso in p2 (this is actually optimal)
p5 rotation is spaghetti, i just pressed buttons and tried not to die

some notes:
P1
standard opener is ok, reprise used as last gcd to catch pot (no other instant cast available)
magick barrier catches both stack and bleedwide
use fleche & c6 asap after downtime mech to get an extra use before DD in p2 (same applies to corps-a-corps and engagement, but to a lesser extent because it only prevents a minor overcap - PLEASE PRIORITIZE USING ADDLE)

P2
dualcast prepped whenever possible during DD, was very useful during prog for quick resses & spot healing (this is good advice in general for any encounter)
prep melee combo after LR to smuggle a reso into intermission for extra cleave (5 gcds before sending melee combo, use reprise as last gcd instead of reso) (SCORCH MAY GHOST IF YOU TRY DOING 6 GCDS (at 2.48) BEFORE MELEE COMBO - DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU ROLL YOUR GCD FRAME 1 WHEN THE BOSS COMES BACK)

Intermission
pot as soon as you can move (important for later), c6 asap for second use, cleave reso (better to aim through your crystal than to retarget to others due to fall off damage, prioritize killing your own crystal first! you can help tank/melee crystal after because you are ranged)
if not smuggling reso, vercure into veraero/verthunder instead of reso (remember that pot still eats dualcast for some reason so pot before you vercure or be sad and confused)

P3
use manafication right before rewind for easy 1-2-3 embolden (also likely won't have 50/50 with faster kts if you are using the reprises i mentioned earlier)

P4
ideally start melee combo 1 gcd after moving for wings, pot should come up after verholy/verflare or scorch if you used it immediately in intermission; this allows you to get triple reso cleave under pot. in the vod i should have switched to melee combo ryne instead of casting on gaia to avoid pushing the third reso out of pot
impact is only a gain on 2 if buffed by acceleration! (had to double check because it's always a gain at lv70)
use manafication immediately after hallowed wing, it will be back up for p5 opener

P5
try to carry over ~80/70 gauge from p4
you have melee combo when you need to move, don't be afraid to press reprise if you're scared to slidecast (DPS LOSS IS BETTER THAN DYING, WHICH IS A BIGGER DPS LOSS)
only saw the enrage sequence like 2 times before we cleared so i didn't have much time to opti, if you have good fundamentals on rdm you will do much better than me in this phase!

there are definitely more optimizations that can be made, but you should probably ask someone who knows what they are talking about.
