Diabetes in the cat is very common. Diabetes will cause three very common symptoms.

The first thing a pet owner may notice is excessive urination. The cat is urinate more frequently and larger amounts of urine. The pet owner may notice that their cat is urinating around the house, but most commonly they will notice their cat is using the litter box a lot and they are scooping more urine clumps from the litter box.

Second a pet owner will notice increased thirst. Because the cat is urinating more, the cat is getting dehydrated. This will make the cat drink more. Most cat owners do not notice their cat drinking a lot of water, but a diabetic cat will need their water bowl filled up regularly.

The last symptom is weight loss. Weight loss from diabetes can be significant. Most pet owners will notice their cat is losing weight without being having a scale at home.

Last I talk about a dropped hock with a diabetic cat. This does not make may top 3, but it is a common symptom in a diabetic cat.
