What is navy?


The Bangladesh Navy is the naval arm of the Bangladesh Armed Forces responsible for the security of 118813 square kilometers 45874 sq mi of maritime territory and all ports and military installations located in the area. The primary responsibility of the Navy is to protect Bangladeshs military and economic interests at home and abroad. Besides Bangladesh Navy is also working as a leading force in disaster management in Bangladesh and humanitarian assistance missions abroad. The Navy is a major participating force in regional counter terrorism operations and is also involved in international peacekeeping operations through UN missions.
