Modeling An Even BIGGER Industry in HO Scale: The Manitowoc Shipyards

Описание: The Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co. in HO scale is merely represented on my layout as described in this video. Some changes are coming to the building arrangement, but the trackage and operations will stay the same. The facility, located on a peninsula along the Manitowoc River, was a major customer of the Soo Line as well as the C&NW in the 1920s and 30s. During WWII, the company even built submarines! The actual building of Great Lakes "boats" ended in the early 1960s when they grew to lengths that made them tough to move out of the facility and into the Lakes. Updates on any revisions to my HO scene will be the topic of future videos.
