Описание: In this video, I turn the most adorable black walnut bowl from a piece of a bigger bowl blank that I miscut with the chainsaw. Instead of one bigger bowl, I can turn a small bowl now and maybe a plate later. This is turned wet and let to dry and warp. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Wood:
American Black Walnut – quarter-sawn
Dimensions (after drying and warping):
4.00” X 3.75” at the top
X 1.75” tall
.15” wall thickness
Ø2.00”x 1.88” foot
.12” tall

Sanded all with 150grit – 320grit sandpaper on the lathe
Hand sanded the outside and top of rim up to 600, to give a super soft feel, but leaving the inside and bottom alone so that the grain can still be felt with a great contrast with the smooth.
Applied Mahoney’s Utility Walnut Oil to amplify the already gorgeous grain and protect it for years and years
Dried for 3+days, reapplied 3 times, drying in between
Buffed by hand ACK’s Polish/Restoring Paste for the warmest sheen
