The "Seefin" is the highest elevation (345 m above sea level) of the Sheep's Head Peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. It's part of the "Wild Atlantic Way", a beautiful touristic route and an "European Destination of Excellence". The Seefin is very wet, so it's no so easy to climb it – but you will be rewarded with a great view over the two bays on each side of the peninsula and if you are lucky even with rainbows. There is a marked path from Ahakista (we wrongly took the non marked one from the parking space above Kilcrohane – but nevertheless reached the top).
According to the local folklore Seefin Mountain was the seat of Finn Mac Cool, the legendary Irish warrior. He liked to rest here at the end of a day's hunting.
A shortfilm by Lars Bessel. Music (Viola): Marion von Oppeln
