Metrolink EMD F59PHR Compilation! ~ All 2024 Catches (Part 1 of 2)

Описание: This is part 1 of a 2 part compilation. This features all of my catches of Metrolinks fleet of five F59PHR locomotives in the year 2024. These clips are presented in order of filming, running from January through June 2024. Shot on AV, VC and IEOC lines

2024 was a crazy year for Metrolink’s not-so contingency fleet. The year started with only 3 of the 5 members actually operating. SCAX 852 was a switcher and thought to possibly be permanently stuck to that roll due to a bad mechanical failure on the Orange County line. SCAX 861 was slowly being re introduced to revenue service, and suffered from mechanical hiccups several times often within a few days of its outing. The other 3 soldiered on well with few mechanical problems.

In about April, suddenly everything clicked, 861 was able to reliably pull trains and then the railroad managed to get the “crippled” 852 back into service, and somehow now the 852 has become a favorite of the fleet among crews, only suffering a single mechanical issue since April, and that was only because it ran out of oil. Showing off its strength as it became regularly assigned to 5 car Antelope Valley line trains.

I guess this should probably be titled: 852 - The Video, but no surprise that happened as I wound up in a key position to chase this locomotive up the canyon 3 times. It is also my favorite, so go figure it’s on here by far the most.
