STORYLINE
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Rome on Tuesday evening for a an international meeting on the crisis in the Middle East.
The conference is set to take place on Wednesday at the Italian Foreign Ministry.
In addition to Rice, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan and a host of other high-level foreign officials are expected to attend.
Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora will also participate in the conference aimed at ending the fighting in his country.
