A stretch of Main Street was closed just before the afternoon rush hour Wednesday as Winnipeg firefighters worked to put out a blaze at the Sutherland Hotel.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic crews, including several fire trucks, were seen outside the building on 785 Main St. battling the blaze around 2 p.m.
A city spokesperson said Main Street is closed in both directions between Higgins and Jarvis avenues as crews respond to the fire.
