Описание: Commencement of 5th Edition LG Cup Horse Polo Tournament at Drass Drass, August 24: The 5th Edition of the LG Cup Horse Polo Tournament commenced today with an impressive inaugural ceremony. The event was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Kargil, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.The inaugural function was held in the august presence of the Director, Department of Youth and Sports, Ladakh, Hon’ble Councilors of Upper and Lower Drass, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Drass, and the Principal, Government Degree College Drass, along with other distinguished guests and officials.A total of 17 teams are participating in the tournament, which includes 5 women’s teams, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and inclusive participation in the traditional sport of horse polo.The LG Cup Horse Polo has become a significant sporting event in the Union Territory of Ladakh, not only for preserving the region’s rich equestrian heritage but also for encouraging the youth, especially women, to actively engage in sports. The tournament is expected to witness spirited competition and promote the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
