Viewing the unit from an adjacent landing within a 5-year-old conifer stand, looking across the hill at tethered logging occurring in the Sugarloafer sale. The 5-year-old harvest was done under old FPA rules, and the Sugerloafer unit is being logged with new PFA rules in place.

Starker Forest is using tethered logging system to conduct commercial thinning in a 30-year-old conifer stand. This harvest unit will show both tethered felling as well as tethered forwarding.
