The Oak Platter, My Largest to Date

Описание: I started with a 20” oak blank. It can from a slab given to my father to make a table with. After the table was made, dad was given the rest of the slab to do with as he wished. One of his wishes was to give this blank to me. I have been looking for a large blank that could turn a statement piece from. So, for now, this is my statement piece. The final dimensions are 19 1/2” diameter and 1 1/4” tall. I believe it to be white oak even though there is no confirmation other than that is for sure oak. It was sanded to 240 grit before I gave it the full Ack’s Wood Paste treatment; tung oil paste, abrasive paste, and carnauba wax.
