I was wasting 2 hours a day just staring at waveforms and cutting silences—so I built an AI to do it for me. In this video, I walk through how I automated the most boring part of video editing: the rough cut.
We go through the full Python build, from extracting audio with FFmpeg and transcribing via Deepgram, to using powerful LLMs on Groq to find the bad takes. If you are a developer or GenAI engineer, stick around for a massive realization I had about why forcing LLMs to output JSON is actually ruining your projects (and what to do instead). Finally, we export the whole thing straight into the DaVinci Resolve timeline using a custom CLI!
