A compilation from 3 different cameras of our cutting party last Easter Sunday (April 20, 2014).
The swords we used were the following (in no particular order):
Aldwin's Folded/Soshu Kitae Katana T10 Elite Series
Onna Bugeisha Naginata 1095 Series
Kirishitan Katana 2nd Gen 1060 Series
Gin no Sakura Handachi 1060 Series
Akuma no Chi Katana 1060 Series
Tora Katana 1060 Series
Raiden's High Frequency Blade (black coated version) 1050 Series
Amatsukami Katana 1050 Iaito Series (sharpened version)
Hitokiri Battousai / Udo Jin-e Katana 1050 Movie Series
Sephiroth's Masamune Odachi 1050 Series
Zatoichi Sword 1050 Movie Series
Raijin Katana 1045 Series
Two-Handed Danish War Sword 1060 Series
Viking Sword 1060 Series
Knight Sword 1060 Series
No swords (and animals and humans) were harmed during the cutting party. Well, except for one sword. The Sephiroth Masamune Odachi 1050 Series' blade got bent. Actually, it was expected because of it's lengthy blade (50 inches) and it's only made of 1050 carbon steel. You may ask, why didn't the other 1050 Series swords' blade bend? It's because they're easier to handle that we're able to cut with good edge alignment. The Sephiroth Masamune Odachi's blade is so long that it's a bit wobbly and hard to swing. The blade of our Danish War Sword, even though it's 6.25 inches shorter than the Sephiroth Masamune Odachi, is made of 1060 carbon steel which is harder and more resilient, so it didn't bend.
Anyway, we hope that you enjoy this video because we really had fun during this cutting party and we hope to have another one soon!
We'd like thank Ram Maquimot and his very supportive family for hosting this cutting party in Batangas, and for compiling the videos. We'd also like to thank JJ Deocariza and Kinn Torino for filming at a different angle; also to Jeremias Cristobal and Yuki for making the cutting party more fun! And of course, thanks to Geisha's Blade for providing the swords :p
