Honeywell HBF820BWMV1 Turbo Force Air Circulator Fan | Initial Checkout

Описание: The initial checkout of a Honeywell branded 'Turbo Force Air Circulator Fan' model HBF820BWMV1. This is a descendant of the Honeywell HT-900 (HT-904, white model), not sure what the reason for this absurdly complicated model number is now.

The HT-900 has been on the market for over 2 decades now. It has traditionally shipped with a C-frame shaded pole motor. The previous version consumes around 0.5 amps, I believe the original version consumed a little more, also while moving more air.

Sometime in the mid-late 2010s, version of the HT-900 started surfacing with a PSC motor. I remember finding one at a thrift store in the late 2010s. I made multiple attempts at purchasing ones new from various stores at the time and was not able to get one with the PSC motor. I'm unsure of where those PSC versions were sold, perhaps it was a random distribution for experimentation.

The blade is different in this new version, and most notably, the motor has been changed to PSC. The change seems to be consistent this time.

For years, I've not been able to understand why these types of fans are still sold with shaded pole motors. Conversion to the PSC results in less than half the power consumption for the same performance. While I haven't tested side by side yet, this one seems to be about the same as the previous version in all respects aside from the power consumption, which is a little less than half.

The air flow seems about the same, as does the noise level, though it does sound a little different. The blade is in reasonable balance. While I cannot speak to the longevity of the unit at this point, I suspect this model would last longer in regards to the bearings. The bearings in the C-frame motors are almost always very cheap and tend to be the failure point of these fans very consistently.

Since this is used, as are the majority of the other ones I have, I'd like to service all 4 back to like-new condition, then do a side-by-side comparison of all 4 versions together to compare performance and power consumption.
