On February 2, Dhritiman Sarkar officially took charge as the new Superintendent of Police of the Murshidabad Police District. On the same day, he was welcomed with a Guard of Honour at the SP Office premises in Berhampore.
Dhritiman Sarkar is an IPS officer of the 2014 batch. In November 2025, he was appointed as Senior Superintendent in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). Prior to that, he served as the Superintendent of Police of West Medinipur.
He has now assumed charge as the Superintendent of Police of the Murshidabad Police District. Until now, Kumar Sani Raj was serving as the SP of the Murshidabad Police District and he is being transferred to the post of Senior Superintendent in the Intelligence Bureau (SS IB).
