If you have a website with a large volume of content or very specific information that is categorized with a lot of different parameters, you might find it useful to offer users a way to filter content.
Filters can take the form of dropdowns, checkboxes, keyword searches, etc, and they can narrow content by category, tag, post type, or any custom field or taxonomy you create.
Use cases include:
Helping users drill down through a volume of content
Creating a directory of people, searchable by role, specialty, etc
In this informal presentation, we'll look at the premium plugin FacetWP, demo its setup, and see some examples of how it can be used to make content more "findable".
You'll learn how to set up a simple faceted search in any WordPress site with any theme. This presentation is suitable for an experienced WordPress user, and will include some optional copy/paste code.
