The panel will explore philosophical questions at the intersection of philosophy of medicine and public health, including: science and fast science in the pandemic, evaluating evidence for COVID-19 public health interventions, ethics and public health decision-making, and public health expertise and public trust during the pandemic.
The panelists are:
~ Trisha Greenhalgh, Professor of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford;
~ Ross Upshur, Professor, Clinical Public Health, University of Toronto;
~ Alex Broadbent, Director, Institute for the Future of Knowledge, University of Johannesburg;
~ Maya Goldenberg, Associate Professor, Philosophy, University of Guelph; and
~ Sang-Wook Yi, Director, HY Center for the Ethics, Law, and Policy of Science and Technology, Hanyang University.
Moderated by Jonathan Fuller, Assistant Professor, History and Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh.
