Last month, I embarked on another life defining road trip. It lasted 18 days. Despite the lengthy duration, I traversed less miles and states than on previous life defining road trips, which I took in 2019 & 2023. I did however, traverse further into the past than on my previous journeys. I visited the place I grew up and actually stood in many of the places that defined my childhood, places that helped shape who I've become. I thought a lot about friendships and relationships I had growing up. I held the costumes that I wore, costumes that were made for me with love, and touching each one brought back an onslaught of memories. The costume you see here in this video is a particularly meaningful one from my past and is a very intentional costume choice for this piece.

Lately, I've been spending much time going deep within as well as connecting with something greater. It's been an emotional journey, but one I have found much clarity in.

I turned 32 this past week and the grow up was...immediate. One chapter closed, another opened. Much is changing in my life right now and I felt an abundance of gratitude yesterday to be surrounded by friends, dance and love. To every friend I hugged yesterday, I hope you know there was a silent "I love you" whispered inside of my mind. Maybe I should have said it out loud, so I'm saying it here. Watching you dance made me happy. Dancing for you, telling this story felt...necessary. Like a sigh of relief. Getting weight off my chest. Shedding a skin. Being reborn. This is why I'm so grateful I was able to share this moment in time with such an artistic crowd who I'm sure understood, or at least felt, the complexities of this piece. A crowd filled with friends and inspiring performers.

I didn't get to see all of my friends after you performed, but I LOVED seeing each and every one of you SHINE on stage. You all are growing too and I am here for it! For you.

Shout out Rach for holding me up yesterday, I loved watching you twerk in clogs onstage at tech.
