We love to shop our own beads. For this beaded necklace, we dug through our bead bins and picked out a selection of colorful faceted beads. Then we strung them together with copper seed beads. This is a great chance to raid your stash and use your leftover beads.

How To Make A Calliope Beaded Necklace
Materials

Steps
1. Arrange the beads. We spread out the colors and sizes, saving one bead to use later.
2. Cut a 23" length of bead stringing wire. Place a Bead Bug or a piece of masking tape on one end to keep the beads from sliding off.
3. Slide on 1.5" copper seed beads.
4. Slide on the first bead from your design. Then slide on 3 or 4 seed beads. This will be the pattern for the necklace: colorful beads with 3 or 4 seed beads between each one.
5. When all the colorful beads are on the wire, finish with 1.5" seed beads.
6. Feed the wire into the clamshell. Slide on a crimp bead. Flatten the crimp bead. Trim the wire. Press the clamshell closed. Rotate the loop closed.
8. Open a jump ring. Feed the lobster clasp and the clamshell into the jump ring. Press the jump ring closed.
9. Remove the Bead bug or masking tape. Slide the end into a clamshell bead tip. Slide on a crimp bead. Slide it all the way down to the beads so it sits inside the clamshell bead tip. Press the crimp bead to flatten it on the wire inside the clamshell bead tip. Trim the end of the wire, then gently press the clamshell bead tip closed. Close the loop on the clamshell bead tip.
10. Open a jump ring. Feed the end of the short piece of chain into the jump ring. Then feed the loop on the clamshell bead tip into the open jump ring. Press the jump ring closed.
11. Make a bead dangle for the end of the chain by sliding the last bead onto the head pin. Make a loop in the headpin. Slide the end of the chain into the loop. Then grasp across the loop with the round-nose pliers and pull the tail of wire around the neck two times. Trim the end of the wire.
