The inversion of the tritone is demonstrated as a means of finding the tritone substitution then the replacement of the Dominant 7th with a tritone substitution is explored. Different ways of finding the tritone substitution are investigated and comparison is made with other ways of seeing the tritone substitution e.g. as a German 6th chord.
