This week, we’re getting serious with the Z20LET build – it’s time to forge the bottom end! We’re upgrading with Astra VXR pistons and a set of Nevlock forged con rods, giving this turbo motor the strength it needs for more boost and bigger power.
It’s been over 7 years since I last built an engine… and I’ve never forged one before, so this is a proper learning curve. From checking tolerances and fitting rings to torquing it all down right – it’s a big job, but the goal is a reliable, strong heart for the Vectra GSI Z20LET conversion.
If you're into engine builds, Vauxhall tuning, or turbocharged projects, this one’s for you. As always, expect a few hiccups, laughs, and lessons along the way.
