I've got some rather unorthodox views on irrigating flowers. Drip tape seems to be Gospel, but I'm not so sure. I question the impact that just watering the plant has on the microbial life and overall health of the soil.
Water is important to the plants, but it is also important to the fungi, beneficial bacteria, and the earthworms that live in the soil. I think about how nature waters the earth and I find that I want to mimic that as much as possible.
