Are you ready to take your health care practice to the next level whether you're a DO, an MD, a physical therapist, a physician assistant or a student in these programs, mastering the basics of osteopathic manipulation can set you apart. Hello, my name is Sash Surve. I am a professor with the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and Director of the Foundations in Osteopathic Manipulation course. Our Foundations of Osteopathic Manipulation course series is designed specifically for novice health care professionals. You'll gain the essential skills needed to perform osteopathic manipulative techniques safely and effectively and to confidently guide your students and residents under your supervision. This interactive series emphasizes hands-on learning through step-by-step demonstrations, practice sessions and robust online content for reviewing the material. You'll build a solid foundation in key osteopathic manipulative techniques like soft tissue, myofascial release, muscle energy, counterstrain and balanced ligamentous tension. Each course focuses on a foundational set of diagnostic and technique skills along with specific body regions to apply and practice your techniques. As an MD, I took the Osteopathic Manipulation Microcredential to better support and supervise osteopathic students in recommending OMT as a part of treatment plans for patients in the Family Medicine Clinic. Through the course, I gained comfort and understanding with basic approaches in osteopathic manipulation.
