Observation Point via East Mesa Rim Trail
Discover this 7.0-mile out-and-back trail near Springdale, Utah. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 44 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through November. You'll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren't allowed on this trail.
This trail is really well maintained, well shaded as well, so you can take a break when needed. It ends at a beautiful view looking down into Zion Canyon. On hot summer days heat exhaustion is common so bring lots of extra water. A four-wheel drive vehicle is required to access the trailhead. The road to the trailhead can become difficult to travel on after storms. Parking outside of the parking boundaries for this trailhead is illegal and could result in fines.
