GARLIC PEANUTS. KACANG BAWANG. KNOFLOOK PINDA'S
INGREDIENTS:
12oz raw peanuts
1 garlic bulb
2 tsp salt
1-2 veggie cubes
PREPARATION:
pour the peanuts in a bowl
wash the peanuts to knock off the dirt
drain and let dry
peel and cut the garlic small
boil enough water to cover the peanuts
add some garlic, veggie cube and salt
mix
cover and let it come to a boil
add the peanuts
mix
cover and let boil for 5-8 minutes
turn the stove off and let it sit overnight
next morning - mix and peel the skin off
this takes a lot of patience. If available buy skinless peanuts
spread on paper towel to dry
heat enough oil to cover the peanuts
add the crushed garlic
remove when its golden brown
spread on paper towel to drain off
the excess oil
fry the peanuts in the same oil
stir often
taste the peanuts during frying to see if they are done
the peanuts are done
remove immediately because
they will continue to cook a little bit
after you take them out
can you hear the crunchy sound?
spread on paper towel to drain off excess oil
add the fried garlic and mix
add a little more salt if needed
Hot peanuts will not be crunchy yet.
They will become crunchy after cooling.
