The Callisto Protocol is a survival horror game developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton. Released on December 2, 2022, the game is directed by Glen Schofield, best known as one of the creators of the Dead Space series. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The story features several key characters, including Jacob Lee, Dani Nakamura, Captain Leon Ferris, Warden Duncan Cole, Dr. Caitlyn Mahler, Elias Porter, and others who play important roles throughout the narrative.

Set in the year 2320, the story follows Jacob Lee and his partner Max, freelance cargo pilots working for the United Jupiter Company. While transporting a mysterious and dangerous shipment to Black Iron Prison on Callisto, their ship, the UJC Charon, is attacked by the radical group known as Outer Way, causing it to crash on the moon’s surface. Jacob and Outer Way leader Dani Nakamura survive the crash and are later captured by Black Iron Prison’s head of security, Captain Leon Ferris.

In The Callisto Protocol, players take control of Jacob Lee from a third-person perspective as he struggles to survive inside the horrifying depths of Black Iron Prison. Gameplay information is presented through a diegetic holographic HUD, enhancing immersion and reinforcing the game’s cinematic horror experience.
